For any retirement messages wished to be sent out to the RCEME family, please send to our mailbox: DND.RCEME-GEMRC.MDN@forces.gc.ca. Retirement messages should be sent at least 3 weeks prior to the DWD ceremony for a timely distribution. Any messages sent later might not be distributed to everyone in time.

April 2025

  • 1 April: MWO, Darin Bowen, CD – After 38+ years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as a member of The Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Master Warrant Officer Darin Bowen will retire on 1 April 2025. There will be no official DWD ceremony for MWO Darin Bowen, but a small gathering will be held at a date of their choice.

January 2025

  • 30 January: Sgt, Sean Tinnion, CDAfter 40 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces, the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Sgt Sean Tinnion will be retiring on the 30th of January 2025. Sgt Tinnion maybe retiring from the CAF, but he is not sitting idle. In July 2025, he will be graduating from Reeves College with certification as a Veterinary Medical Assistant. So, if he’s not walking his dogs, he will be working to take of others pets and also taking drives with his wife Lisa in the country.   • 10 January: Cpl Kenneth Stone– After 8 years of dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Corporal Stone will be retiring on January 15, 2025.To honour his service and celebrate this milestone, a Depart With Dignity (DWD) ceremony will be held on January 17, 2025, at Beertown in Barrie, On. Please join us in showing our appreciation for Cpl Stone’s contributions and wishing him well in this next chapter of his life. November 2024

  • 24 November: MCpl Blake WillsAfter 11 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and The Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Master Corporal Blake Wills will retire on 6 Jan 2025.   • 21 November: MCpl Renald Prévost, CD – After 36 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps (RCEME), MCpl Renald Prévost will retire on 21 November 2024. A DWD function will be held for MCpl Prévost to honor those who have fought and fallen, his supportive family, his long and successful career, and the beginning of a new chapter in his life. The event will take place at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 517, located at 3583 Petawawa Blvd, Petawawa, Ontario, K8H 2Y1.   • 20 November: MWO Dave Carlson, CD – After 23 years of loyal dedicated service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MWO Dave Carlson will retire on 20 Nov 2024.   • 20 November: Sgt Frederick Gagnon, CD – After 15 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as a member of The Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Sgt Gagnon will retire on November 20th 2024.   • 14 November: Cpl Kevin Holst, CD After 35 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Kevin Holst will retire on the 30th October 2024. A retirement luncheon will take place at Kelsey’s Petawawa on Nov 14th 2024.   • 1 November: MCpl A. Grenier-Duchesne – After 9 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps (RCEME), MCpl Grenier-Duchesne will retire on November 3rd, 2024.   • 1 November: Cpl Alexander Coppicus – After 9+ Years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Coppicus retired on 31 October 2024. A DWD will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 517, located at 3583 Petawawa Blvd, Petawawa, Ontario, K8H 2Y1, on 01 November 2024 from 1300-1600. All serving and retired members are welcome to attend alongside Cpl Coppicus’s friends and family. October 2024

  • 29 October: Cpl I. Sadler – After 5 Years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Sadler retired on 29 October 2024. Cpl Sadler is in the final stages of joining the Toronto Police. Isaiah would like to thank everyone that was part of his military career for all the memories.
  • 20 October: MCpl Christopher Lanoue, CD – After 14 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MCpl Lanoue retired on 20 October 2024. In line with their wishes, a small farewell dinner was held in Barrie in October 2024, where they shared their appreciation for the advice and support from coworkers over the years.
  • 15 October: Cpl James Nichol – After 11 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl James Nichol will retire on the 15 October 2024. As a new retiree from the CAF, Cpl James Nichol will be staying in the town of Edgerton, Alberta.
  • 8 October: Sgt William Meek, CDAfter +32 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Sgt William Meek will be retiring on 8 October 2024. The DWD will take place at his beautiful Pass Lake, Shuniah property 40 min NE of Thunder Bay.   • 4 October: MWO Michael Hogan, CDAfter 39 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical Engineers (RCEME), MWO Hogan will retire on the on 4 October 2024. MWO Hogan has chosen to not have a DWD, but please send all wishes, anecdotes and stories to the WO MJP Carrere.
  • 1 October: MCpl Mathieu Boudreau – After 12 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Master Corporal Mathieu Boudreau will be retiring from the uniform on October 1, 2024.   • 24 September: WO, Roger O’Reilly, CDAfter 36 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical Engineers (RCEME), WO O’Reilly will retire on the on 30 September 2024. DWD will be held at Fort Pepperrell Mess, Garrison St. John’s on 24 September 2024, at 12:30.   • 29 August: Cpl John Burrows, CD – After 13 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl John Burrows will retire on 3 September 2024.   • 28 August: MWO Simon Trottier, CDAfter 24+ years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MWO Simon Trottier will retire from uniformed service August 28, 2024. MWO Trottier has chosen not to have a Depart With Dignity function and wishes to continue to collaborate with the big RCEME family in his new role.   • 23 August: MCpl JMD Duguay, CD1 – After 26 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MCpl Dave Duguay will retire on 23 August 2024. Upon release from the CAF, MCpl Duguay plans on moving back home to Tracadie, NB.
  • 23 August: Cpl Isaac Sparks CD – After 12+ years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Isaac Sparks will retire on 26 August 2024.   • 18 August: MCpl Vachon-Dubuc, IsraelAfter 14 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MCpl Vachon-Dubuc retired on August 18, 2024. As he decided, there was no formal departure ceremony organized but he would like to warmly thank everyone who took the time to offer him excellent advice during his years of service.
  • 16 August: MCpl Justin Dallaire, CD – After 12+ years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MCpl Justin Dallaire will retire on 19 August 2024. MCpl Dallaire’s Depart with Dignity will be held on 16 Aug at 14:00 at the Thirsty Rhino, Edmonton AB.
  • 16 August: Cpl Cody Bosel, CD After 15 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Bosel will be retiring on 14 Aug 2024.   • 16 August: Cpl Drew King-Buckley, CD – After 14 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Corporal Drew King-Buckley, CD will retire on 28 August 2024. Cpl Drew King-Buckley will be departing the military in August 2024 to pursue a career in counselling and wellness.   • 9 August: Sgt E.J.S. Perreault, CD – After 17 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and over 12 with the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Sgt Perreault will retire on 16 Aug2024. Upon release form the CAF, Sgt Perreault intends on moving back to Quebec to be close with family, and was accepted a job working with a mining company.   • 8 August: MCpl JJD Beaumont, CD – After 16 years of service with the Canadian Armes Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MCpl Daniel Beaumont will retire on 08 August 2024. Upon release from the CAF, MCpl Beaumont plans on staying in the area and becoming self employed with their own business.

July 2024

  • 31 July: Cpl Nicole King – After 5 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME) Corps, Cpl King will be retiring and officially hanging up her uniform on the 31st of July 2024.   • 26 July: Sgt Alain Beaulieu, CD – After more than 27 years of loyal service within the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Sgt Beaulieu will retire on 21 June 2024. A Depart with Dignity ceremony (DWD) will be held on Friday, July 26th, 2024.   • 19 July: CWO K.S. Northorp, MMM,CD – After more than 34 years of loyal dedicated service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), CWO Northorp will retire on 17 July, 2024. CWO Northorp is married to his wife Nathalie since 1991 and they have two daughters, Marissa and Patricia. A special thanks to Nathalie and the girls for their support and many sacrifices to enable my service and demanding career. Without them none of this would have been possible.He will continue to serve as a Public Servant with the Light Vehicle Modernization (LVM) project and is looking forward to spending quality time with his new grandson and family.   • 19 July: MWO Brian Pappas, CD – After 39+ years of service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corp of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), 10+ of those years as a reservist. MWO Brian Pappas will retire 26 August 2024.A small A4 Logistics Directorate DWD with friends will be held in honour of Brian’s Service Friday 19th July 2024 at the Olympic Dinner on Portage Avenue In Winnipeg.   • 18 July: Cpl Kevin HacheAfter 12 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Hache will retire on 18 July 2024, and they will be transitioning to a career in the public service starting July 18th , 2024. While still continuing in the same capacity as a vehicle technician within the 5th CDSG Technical Services Branch, Maintenance Company. Cpl Hache decided not to have a departure with dignity (DWD).   • 17 July: MWO Serge Lachance, CD – After 22 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MWO Lachance will retire on July 17, 2024.   • 10 July: Sgt J.R.E. Thibault, CD 1After 20 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Sergeant Eric Thibault will retire on 28 June 2024. A Depart with Dignity ceremony will be held on Wednesday, 10 July 2024.   • 8 July: Cpl François Montgrain, CD – After 18 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl François Montgrain will retire on the 8 July 2024. As a new retiree from the CAF, Cpl François Montgrain will remain in the region of the Saguenay Lac St-Jean.
  • 5 July: MWO, Bruno Larose, CD – After nearly 28 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as a member of the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME) Corps, Master Warrant Officer Bruno Larose will retire on January 15, 2025. Bruno enrolled in March 1997 as a Fire Control System technician (now EO). A small farewell ceremony will be held in honor of Bruno on July 5th in the Victoria region.   • 4 July: Cpl Josh GurrAfter 6+ years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Gurr will retire on 04 July 2024. He has remained a Tech within Maint Coy until securing a Public Service position with Tech Svcs beginning in July 2024.
  • 3 July: MCpl Mathieu Harnois – After 14+ years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and 13+ years with the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MCpl Mathieu Harnois will be retiring on 03 July 2024. MCpl Harnois has requested that if you are willing to send any humorous stories and photos of your time spent together be sent to Ashley.hoey@forces.gc.ca. as well as any congratulatory messages.
  • 2 July: WO Jean-Francois Lemieux, CD – After 22 years of continuous service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and The Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), WO Lemieux will retire on July 2nd 2024.   • 27 June: CWO Olivier Descheneaux, MMM, CD – After 25+ years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), CWO Descheneaux will be retiring on 08 July 2024. There will be a Change of Appointment parade held at Grn Wainwright Tommy Prince drill hall on 27 June 2024 followed by his DWD at the Wainwright Junior Rank Mess.   • 19 June: MWO Dave Sirois, CDAfter 29+ years of loyal and good service within the Canadian Armed Forces, 24 of which were proudly served with the RCEME Corps, MWO Sirois retired from the Regular Force on 19 June 2024. Mr. Sirois has accepted a civilian mechanic position and will be transferring back to the Reserve Force at 35 Svc Bn.   • 7 June: Cpl Lee J.   • 17 March: Capt Stewart – After 31 years of good and loyal service within the CAF and RCEME Corps, Capt Greg Stewart will retire on 17 March 2021. There will be no DWD, instead Greg and Shelleyann will have a huge party by the pool/ lake when circumstances allow.
  • 15 March: Cpl Haque – After 14.5 plus years of service, Cpl Enamul Haque will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the RCEME Corps on March 15th 2021. Enamul, Ishrat and their daughter Arya will be staying in the Toronto area where he plans to go back to school to focus on his new career in entrepreneurship and small business. Enamul would like to wish everyone that he has worked with over the years all the best in their futures and a safe journey throughout their military careers. Unfortunately ,due to the COVID restrictions in place, there will be no formal DWD ceremony.   • 9 March: MWO Charest – After 24 years of good and loyal service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), MWO Frédéric Charest will retire on March 9, 2021. A ceremony will take place at a later date, when the COVID-19 situation is stabilized. An invitation will be sent.   • 28 February: LCol McDonald – After almost 32 years as a FCS/EO Tech and a RCEME Officer, LCol Rob McDonald will be retiring from the CAF on 28 Feb 2021. Rob and his wife, Sgt Shelley McDonald, will continue their careers in ADM(Mat) with Rob immediately transitioning to the Public Service to take on new challenges in DCSEM. His 3 children (Ashley in Toronto, Mikaela in Richmond and Pte Christian McDonald in 2 Svc Bn) wish him success in his future endeavours. Rob has met many wonderful people in his long career and has many fond memories of his time in uniform. He will indeed miss all of those whom he has met and hopes to keep contact with them into the future. A virtual DWD will be planned in the near future.   • 25 February: LCol Pellicano – After 29 plus years of loyal service to the Canadian Armed Forces and 27 plus years with the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, LCol Sophie Pellicano will leave the Regular Force on 25 February 2021. She will nonetheless continue in a career as a public servant in the Strategic Joint Staff. Due to the pandemic restrictions, there will be no formal DWD ceremony.   • 25 February: Pte Gagné – After 4 years of good and loyal services in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and in the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Pte Sébastien Gagné will be retiring on February 25, 2021.   • 24 February: Cpl Wells – After 5 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Connor Wells will retire on the 24 February 2021 to explore other career opportunities. Due to COVID restrictions and on Cpl Wells’s request, a Departure with Dignity (DWD) will not be held.   • 14 February: Capt Emes – After 26 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Captain Stephen Emes will retire on 14 February 2021. Captain Emes’ last day in uniform will be 14 February 2021. His new career will start the next day, with his own company marketing prominent product lines to the Mil/LE community. Captain Emes will remain in the Southern Georgian Bay area as he waits for his wife Stacey to retire from the Forces.   • 5 February: WO Bertrand – After 30 years of service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, WO Bertrand will leave the Regular force on 5 February 2021. He will nonetheless continue in a career as a public servant at DSSPM 7. No event will be held as Robert would like to move smoothly to his next employment.   • 4 February: MWO JohnsonAfter 35 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MWO Johnson has retired on 4 February 2021. A depart with dignity ceremony will be held at the Base Borden WO’s & Sgt’s Mess and the date is to be confirmed. The POC for stories is TBD.
  • 1 February: MCpl Franklin – After 9 plus years of service, MCpl Nicholas Franklin will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the RCEME Corps on February 1st 2021.Nicholas, Nikki and their three children will be staying in Edmonton area where he plans to start his own mobile repair company. Nicholas wishes everyone that he has worked with, in the past and present, the best of luck in their futures, and a safe journey throughout their military careers.
