June 2021

  • 18 June: Maj McLeod – After 36+ years of loyal service, Maj McLeod will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces on 18 June 2021. A small DWD will be held in Kingston at a date to be determined in the near future. Please send anecdotes, messages and photos NLT 20 May to Mike Vandepol at Michael.Vandepol2@forces.gc.ca.
  • 14 June: Sgt Tétreault – After 15 years of loyal service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Royal Canadian Mechanical Electrical Engineering Corps (RCMG), Sgt Denis Tétreault will retire on June 14, 2021. A departure ceremony with dignity will take place on June 14, 2021 in our lines. Due to covid-19 restrictions, the event will unfortunately not be open to the public. For any story, anecdote and photos, send them to Sgt Gallant NLG in nigel.gallant@forces.gc.ca no later than May 31, 2021.
  • 4 June: WO Fenton – After 30 plus years of dedicated and loyal service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and RCEME Corps, WO Derrick Fenton will retire on 4 June 2021. The official Retirement Ceremony will commence at “The Bunker” located in the Oromocto mall, 1198 Onondaga St, Oromocto, N.B (Pizza Delight) at 1300hrs on 04 June 2021. May 2021

  • 12 May: MWO Cimon – After 24 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, MWO Cimon will retire on 12 May 2021. Yannick would like to to thank all mentors and friends who made it possible for him to have a wonderful career in the military. Yannick accepted a job with the public service as EG6. He and his family will stay in the National Capital to allow their two daughters to complete their University. A Departure with Dignity (DWD) Ceremony will not be held due to the COVD-19 Situation.

April 2021

  • 31 April: Sgt Brown – After 22 years in uniform, Sgt John Brown is retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces with his last day in Reg force uniform being 31 Aug, 2020. It’s been a long enjoyable road and as he nears the end of his employability in the CAF, he has taken the opportunity and accepted a position as a reservist Sgt at 21EW, continuing to support the CAF as a Vehicle Technician. Departure with Dignity (DWD) Ceremony will be held on 25 March 2021 at 1:00pm at the ANAF Club in Kingston. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the event will unfortunately not open to public.   • 30 April: Cpl Laplante – After 11 years of loyal and dedicated service in the Canadian Armed Forces, Cpl Maxime Laplante will retire on 30 April 2021. Cpl Laplante decided to change his career path and will be working in finances after his retirement and does not want a dignified departure ceremony.   • 30 April: MWO Pruski – After 22 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the RCEME Corps, MWO Ray Pruski will retire on 30 April 2021. Due to COVID restrictions and on MWO Pruski’s request, a small Departure with Dignity will be held in Halifax.   • 23 April: MWO Ring – After 35 plus years of loyal service in the RCEME Corp and the Canadian Armed Forces, MWO Gary Ring will be retiring on 23 April 2021. A Departure with Dignity (DWD) Ceremony will be held on 22 April 2021 at 1200hrs at The Boulevard (formerly the Warehouse / Sassy’s) as long as COVID restrictions do not change in Renfrew County.   • 21 April: Cpl Russell – After 7 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl David Russell will retire on the 20 April 2021. Due to the COVID restriction a small Departure with Dignity (DWD) Ceremony was held with selected individuals.   • 15 April: MWO Noseworthy – After more than 27 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps (RCEME), MWO Noseworthy will retire 15 April 2021. Due to the Covid protocols enforced in Alberta at this time, there will be no DWD but you can send any well wishes or ridiculous stories over the years to WO Marie Walton at Marie.Walton2@forces.gc.ca.
  • 2 April: Sgt Gagné – After more than 24 years of good and loyal service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Sgt Martin Gagné will retire on April 2, 2021. Martin does not want a Departure with Dignity ceremony, but simply a farewell dinner with the team he worked with during his last assignment. March 2021

  • 29 March: Capt Dubé – After more than 16 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and more than 10 years with the Canadian Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Corps (RCEME), Captain Daniel Dubé will retire on 29 March 2021. Due to the sanitary measures currently imposed, a private ceremony to celebrate Capt Dubé’s career will be held on 9 March 2021.   • 26 March: Major Walsh – After 33.5 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Major Allan Walsh will retire on the 26 March 2021. Due to COVID restrictions and on Maj Walsh’s request, a Departure with Dignity (DWD) will not be held.   • 21 March: Cpl Davidson – After 17+ years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Brad Davidson will retire on 21 March 2021.   • 17 March: Capt Stewart – After 31 years of good and loyal service within the CAF and RCEME Corps, Capt Greg Stewart will retire on 17 March 2021. There will be no DWD, instead Greg and Shelleyann will have a huge party by the pool/ lake when circumstances allow.
  • 15 March: Cpl Haque – After 14.5 plus years of service, Cpl Enamul Haque will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the RCEME Corps on March 15th 2021. Enamul, Ishrat and their daughter Arya will be staying in the Toronto area where he plans to go back to school to focus on his new career in entrepreneurship and small business. Enamul would like to wish everyone that he has worked with over the years all the best in their futures and a safe journey throughout their military careers. Unfortunately ,due to the COVID restrictions in place, there will be no formal DWD ceremony.   • 9 March: MWO Charest – After 24 years of good and loyal service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), MWO Frédéric Charest will retire on March 9, 2021. A ceremony will take place at a later date, when the COVID-19 situation is stabilized. An invitation will be sent. February 2021

  • 28 February: LCol McDonald – After almost 32 years as a FCS/EO Tech and a RCEME Officer, LCol Rob McDonald will be retiring from the CAF on 28 Feb 2021. Rob and his wife, Sgt Shelley McDonald, will continue their careers in ADM(Mat) with Rob immediately transitioning to the Public Service to take on new challenges in DCSEM. His 3 children (Ashley in Toronto, Mikaela in Richmond and Pte Christian McDonald in 2 Svc Bn) wish him success in his future endeavours. Rob has met many wonderful people in his long career and has many fond memories of his time in uniform. He will indeed miss all of those whom he has met and hopes to keep contact with them into the future. A virtual DWD will be planned in the near future.   • 25 February: LCol Pellicano – After 29 plus years of loyal service to the Canadian Armed Forces and 27 plus years with the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, LCol Sophie Pellicano will leave the Regular Force on 25 February 2021. She will nonetheless continue in a career as a public servant in the Strategic Joint Staff. Due to the pandemic restrictions, there will be no formal DWD ceremony.   • 25 February: Pte Gagné – After 4 years of good and loyal services in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and in the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Pte Sébastien Gagné will be retiring on February 25, 2021.   • 24 February: Cpl Wells – After 5 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Connor Wells will retire on the 24 February 2021 to explore other career opportunities. Due to COVID restrictions and on Cpl Wells’s request, a Departure with Dignity (DWD) will not be held.   • 19 February: Cpl Bélanger – After more than 7 years of good and loyal services in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and in the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Nicolas Bélanger will be retiring on February 19, 2021.   • 14 February: Capt Emes – After 26 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Captain Stephen Emes will retire on 14 February 2021. Captain Emes’ last day in uniform will be 14 February 2021. His new career will start the next day, with his own company marketing prominent product lines to the Mil/LE community. Captain Emes will remain in the Southern Georgian Bay area as he waits for his wife Stacey to retire from the Forces.   • 5 February: WO Bertrand – After 30 years of service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, WO Bertrand will leave the Regular force on 5 February 2021. He will nonetheless continue in a career as a public servant at DSSPM 7. No event will be held as Robert would like to move smoothly to his next employment.   • 1 February: MCpl Franklin – After 9 plus years of service, MCpl Nicholas Franklin will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the RCEME Corps on February 1st 2021.Nicholas, Nikki and their three children will be staying in Edmonton area where he plans to start his own mobile repair company. Nicholas wishes everyone that he has worked with, in the past and present, the best of luck in their futures, and a safe journey throughout their military careers.   • 20 January: LCol Moore – After 39.5 years of service with the CAF and the Corps of RCEME, LCol Craig Moore will retire on 20 January 2021. Craig and Sue hope to retire, move, and make curling ice in a small club in PEI, focusing on curling, golfing, and playing guitar.
  • 15 January: Cpl Jardine – After 12 plus years of loyal service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Corporal Brett Jardine will retire on 15 Jan 2021. Due to the COVID restrictions in place, there will be no formal DWD ceremony.   • 8 January: MWO Forest – MWO William Forest will be retiring on 8 January 2021, after more than 35 years of dedicated and loyal service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (RCEME) Corps. Taking at least the next couple of years off, William plans to travel the world with his 21 year-old twins Audrey and Samuel joining him as they can.   • 11 December: MWO Blanchette – After more than 35 years of good and loyal service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the RCEME Corps, MWO Alain Blanchette will retire on December 11, 2020. Alain does not wish to have a departure with dignity, but simply a lunch with the staff he met during his last assignment.   • 8 December: LCol Janelle – After 36+ years of service with the CAF and the Corps of RCEME, LCol Denis Janelle will retire on 8 December 2020. Retirement plans include spending more time with his family and friends in the Ottawa area and enjoying his hobbies.   • 1 December: MWO Paradis – After more than 25 years of good and loyal service, MWO Dom Paradis will be taking his retirement on December 1st 2020. Dom and his awesome wife Karine decided to retire and live a simple life on a homestead. With the support of their 3 boys, Sebastien, Alexandre (part of RCEME as a Veh Tech in becoming) and David, they will strive to live to the fullest and enjoy the rest of their life together amongst the farm animals and surrounding wild life.
  • 1 December: WO Gauthier – With just over 20 years of good and loyal service in the Canadian Armed Forces, WO Nicolas Gauthier will be retiring on December 1, 2020. November 2020

  • 30 November: MWO Hawkins – After 35 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MWO Hawkins will retire on 30 Nov 2020. A Departure with Dignity (DWD) Ceremony will not be held at this time due to current COVID gathering restrictions.   • 27 November: CWO Thompson – After more than 35 years of dedicated and loyal service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and to the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), CWO David Thompson will retire on 27 November 2020. Although retiring, CWO Thompson will stay busy as he has decided to give back by transferring over to the COATS. He is also volunteering full time at the Borden Military Museum and continuing his involvement with the Flakpanzer restoration project. As well, he is currently enrolled in the Museum and Gallery Studies course at Georgian College in Barrie. A Depart with Dignity (DWD) ceremony will be held on Thursday, 19 Nov 20 at the Angus Legion from 11:30 – 1400hrs. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there is a maximum of 50 people allowed to attend. October 2020

  • 30 October: MWO L’Italien – After more than 31 years of good and loyal service, MWO Fred L’Italien will be taking his retirement on October 30th 2020. Fred will return to the source as a VHE10 Technician within the Public Service. DWD ceremony will take place on a future date, when possible. An invite shall be sent then.   • 27 October: Cpl Fillion – After 12 years of loyal service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Cpl Danny Fillion will retire on October 27, 2020. You can send your wishes to Sgt Gallant at Nigel.Gallant@forces.gc.ca. Cpl Fillion has decided not to hold a departure ceremony.
  • 13 October: Sgt Rasmussen – After more than 23 years of loyal service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (RCEME) Corps, Sgt Ryan Rasmussen, is releasing on 13 Oct 2020. A Departure with Dignity (DWD) luncheon will take place on Wednesday, 14 Oct 2020, at the CFB Edmonton Curling club from 1400hrs to whenever anyone wants to leave. Due to COVID 19, seating is limited.   • 5 October: Maj Lagrange – After more than 22 years of dedicated and loyal service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and to the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Major Jean- Sébastien Lagrange will retire on 5 October 2020. Jean-Sébastien’s Depart with Dignity (DWD) ceremony will be held at a later date (TBC) once COVID-19 conditions permit an appropriate in-person celebration.   • 30 September: LCol Turgeon – After 37 years of service, LCol Yves Turgeon, enrolled on 24 may 1983, will hit the compulsory retirement age on 30 September 2020 and retire on that date.
  • 13 September: MWO Radies – After 38+ years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineer Corps (RCEME), MWO Dan Radies will retire on 13 Sept 2020 after reaching CRA 60. Due in part to COVID and other unknowns, an official date for any DWD is still undecided. He says that if you want to drop by for a sociable feel free, door / acreage is always open and that there is plenty of room for parking.   • 12 September: Cpl Therrien – After 30 years of loyal and dedicated service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Cpl Éric Therrien will retire on 12 September 2020. Éric’s Departure with Dignity ceremony will be conducted on 21 August 2020, from 13h00 to 15h00 at Kingston’s Garrison Golf & Curling Club (GG&CC), located on Red Patch Ave on the McNaughton side of the Canadian Forces Base in Kingston. Please note that due to COVID-19 circumstances, the location and maximum number of guests could be subject to change. Guests will be advised if such happens.

  • 31 August: MWO Dumas – Master Warrant Officer Dumas enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces on the April 4th, 1986, in Montreal and will retire on August 31st, 2020. MWO Dumas wishes the best to everyone he crossed paths with and a bright future to the RCEME Corps. He will be keeping fond memories of his very eventful 34-year career and the people he has met/become friends with during that time. MWO Dumas chose to retire without a Departure with Dignity.
  • 29 August: Cpl Johnston – After 11 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps, Cpl Johnston has retire on 29 August 2020.   • 28 August: Cpl Michel – After 12 plus years, Cpl Jonathan Michel will retire on 28 August 2020. At this time a Depart with Dignity luncheon will be on hold for Cpl Michel.   • 24 August: MWO Vandepol – After 32 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps, MWO Vandepol will retire on 24 August 2020. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will no Departure with Dignity Ceremony. He would like to thank all those he has served with, wishing everyone all the best.
  • 19 August: MWO HickeyMaster Warrant Officer Kevin Hickey will be retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces on August 19, 2020, after serving 35 plus years with the RCEME Corps. MWO Hickey would like to thanks his Wife Paula, for the numerous years of support throughout his career. Also, he wishes to thank his two daughters Renee and Erica for having patience and understanding through numerous postings.
  • 12 August: CWO McLeod – After 31+ years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), CWO McLeod will retire on 12 August 2020. A Departure with Dignity (DWD) Ceremony will not be held.
  • 10 August: Sgt Pelletier – After 14 years of dedicated and loyal services as a member of the CAF and RCEME corps, Sgt Nicolas Pelletier will be retiring on August 10th, 2020. Given the exceptional circumstances surrounding this year, there will not be no departure with dignity, nor farewell dinner scheduled.
  • 7 August: MWO Murray – After 29 years of service with the CAF, MWO Angus Murray retired on 7 August 2020. Due to COVID restrictions and on MWO Murray’s request, only a small Departure with Dignity (DWD) will be held at Building K4 canteen in Gagetown (date TBD) for coffee and presentation of scrolls. The member has declined a Departure with Dignity (DWD) Ceremony with the current pandemic state.   • 31 July: Major Cogswell – After 33+ years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Major Cogswell will retire on 31 July 2020. A Departure with Dignity will occur once additional restrictions related to COVID-19 are lifted.   • 30 July: WO Miller – After 35 plus years of loyal and dedicated service with the Canadian Armed Forces and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, WO Miller will retire on 30 July 2020. A Depart with Dignity (DWD) ceremony will be held on Thursday 13 August 2020 15:00hours at 1400 Lanzy Road, Detachment Aldershot, Nova Scotia, B4N 4H8, Building 26, Borden Hall Combined Mess.   • 28 July: Pte(T) McKinnon – After 5 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers , Pte (T) McKinnon will release on 28 July 2020. The member has declined a Departure with Dignity Ceremony with the current pandemic state.   • 15 July: Capt FournierAfter 14 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Capt Fournier will retire on 15 July 2020. Departure with Dignity (DWD) Ceremony is not planned at this time. We hope to celebrate his service and bid him farewell during an informal luncheon mid-June.   • 7  July: Capt MacDonaldAfter 12 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Capt MacDonald will retire on 07 Jul 2020. Capt MacDonald’s career highlights include two years spent as the Maintenance Officer with 2 RCR and three years as the Force Development Officer with CSOR. Post-retirement will see Capt MacDonald working with a private company in Ottawa. Due to the current limitations in public gatherings, a small gathering was held to celebrate Capt MacDonald’s career.
