For any retirement messages wished to be sent out to the RCEME family, please send to our mailbox: DND.RCEME-GEMRC.MDN@forces.gc.ca. Retirement messages should be sent at least 3 weeks prior to the DWD ceremony for a timely distribution. Any messages sent later might not be distributed to everyone in time.

august 2024

  • 23 August: MCpl JMD Duguay, CD1 – After 26 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MCpl Dave Duguay will retire on 23 August 2024. Upon release from the CAF, MCpl Duguay plans on moving back home to Tracadie, NB.
  • 8 August: MCpl JJD Beaumont, CD – After 16 years of service with the Canadian Armes Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MCpl Daniel Beaumont will retire on 08 August 2024. Upon release from the CAF, MCpl Beaumont plans on staying in the area and becoming self employed with their own business.

July 2024

  • 19 July: MWO Brian Pappas, CD – After 39+ years of service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corp of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), 10+ of those years as a reservist. MWO Brian Pappas will retire 26 August 2024.A small A4 Logistics Directorate DWD with friends will be held in honour of Brian’s Service Friday 19th July 2024 at the Olympic Dinner on Portage Avenue In Winnipeg.   • 8 July: Cpl François Montgrain, CD – After 18 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl François Montgrain will retire on the 8 July 2024. As a new retiree from the CAF, Cpl François Montgrain will remain in the region of the Saguenay Lac St-Jean.
  • 3 July: MCpl Mathieu Harnois – After 14+ years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and 13+ years with the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MCpl Mathieu Harnois will be retiring on 03 July 2024. MCpl Harnois has requested that if you are willing to send any humorous stories and photos of your time spent together be sent to Ashley.hoey@forces.gc.ca. as well as any congratulatory messages.
  • 2 July: WO Jean-Francois Lemieux, CD – After 22 years of continuous service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and The Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), WO Lemieux will retire on July 2nd 2024.   • 27 June: CWO Olivier Descheneaux, MMM, CD – After 25+ years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), CWO Descheneaux will be retiring on 08 July 2024. There will be a Change of Appointment parade held at Grn Wainwright Tommy Prince drill hall on 27 June 2024 followed by his DWD at the Wainwright Junior Rank Mess.   • 14 June: MWO Tremblay S.J.F., CD – After 28+ years of loyal service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Tremblay retired on April 15, 2024. A departure with dignity ceremony will take place on June 14, at 12:00 p.m., at the Mill Street Brew Pub restaurant, 555 Wellington St, Ottawa, On, K1R 1C5.   • 14 June: MCpl Kevin Boutin, CD – After more than 15 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MCpl Kevin Boutin will retire on 19 Jun 24.   • 7 June: Cpl Lee J. Andrew – After 9 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Andrew will retire on 14 June 2024.   • 7 June: Warrant Officer François Blouin, CDAfter 22 years of continuous service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and The Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), WO Blouin will retire on June 7, 2024.   • 31 May: MWO Patrick (Pat) Bernier, CD: After more than 32 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MWO Bernier will retire on June 19, 2024. A Departure with Dignity ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m., May 31, 2024, at the Kolok Mess at Longue-Pointe Garrison, Montreal.   • 15 May: MCpl R. Allen Robichaud – After 18 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MCpl Allen Robichaud will be retiring on 15 May 2024. A Departure with Dignity (DWD) will be held on a later date and a location will be determined by Sgt Warnell who will be the event OPI.   • 15 May: Cpl Dave Mario Tardif – After serving with dedication for 9 years in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Corporal Tardif will retire on May 15, 2024. He will continue his good work within the reserve force as MSE op at the 57th Field Ambulance as well as a civilian career filled with challenges.
  • 13 May: MCpl Samuel Garceau, CD – After 17 years of service to the Canadian Armed Forces including 5 years as an Artilleryman and 12 years as a member of the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Regiment, Master-Corporal Samuel Garceau will retire may 13th, 2024.
  • 11 May: Cpl Pimiskern – After 4 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Pimiskern will be retiring on 11 May 2024.   • 10 May: MCpl Y.J.J.P Yvan Lacroix – After 12 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MCpl Yvan Lacroix will retire on May 10, 2024.   • 2 May: Cplc C. Bailey, CD – Après 16 ans de service au sein des Forces armées canadiennes (FAC) et du Corps du Génie électrique et mécanique royal canadien (GEMRC), le Cplc Colton Bailey prendra sa retraite le 2mai 2024. Il est maintenant temps pour le Cplc Bailey d’entamer la prochaine étape de sa vie avec une transition immédiate vers un poste de mécanicien dans l’ouest, où il pourra passer plus de temps avec sa famille et ses amis.

MCpl Laplante decided to not have a farewell luncheon but wants to thank everyone he worked with throughout his career.

March 2024

  • 28 March: Cpl RancourtAfter 10 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and The Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Rancourt will retire on 28 March, 2024.   • 25 March: MWO Gervais – After more than 22 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and The Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MWO Jonathan Gervais will retire on 09 April 2024.   • 12 March: Cpl Steeven Lecompte – After serving for a +10 years within the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME) Corps, Corporal Steeven Lecompte will be transitioning to a career in the public service starting from March 13, 2024, while continuing in the same capacity as a vehicle technician within the 5th Combat Engineer Regiment (5 CER).

  • 27 February: Cpl Jesupalan – After more than 5 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Cpl Jesupalan will leave at the end of his contract on February 27, 2024.   • 15 February: WO Gravel – After more than 24+ years of good and loyal service within the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Corps (RCEME) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), WO Jean-François Gravel will retire on February 15, 2024. Warrant Officer Gravel has decided that he does not want a departure with dignity (DWD).
  • 15 February: Cpl Sébastien Derguy-Pagé, CD – After 16 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Corps of the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Corporal Sébastien Derguy-Pagé will release on 15 February 2024. At the member’s request, no farewell ceremony will take place. January 2024

  • 27 January: Cpl Darren J Guay – After 10 years of dedication and service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), with the Corps of the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Corporal Darren J Guay will release on 27 January 2024. Upon release from the Canadian Armed Forces Cpl Guay has planned to stay in the Halifax area with his wife Hannah and work as a truck and transport technician. Cpl Guay has declined a Depart with Dignity Ceremony.
  • 26 January: Cpl Flamand – After more than 4 years in the CAF and the RCEME Corps, Cpl Flamand will transfer from Reg Force to the Reserve on January 26, 2024. Cpl Flamand doesn’t wish a DDD. Any message can be sent to Sgt Gagnon at: Julien.Gagnon@forces.gc.ca.
  • 24 January: MCpl Keith Valad, CD – After 18 years of service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and The Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), MCpl Valad will retire on 30 January 2024.   • 18 octobre : Maj Jens Kull – apres plus de 34 ans de services Après 10 ans de service dévoué dans les Forces armees canadiennes (FAC) e t le Corps du génie électrique mécanique royal canadien (GEMRC), Le Maj Jens Kull prendra sa retraite le 25 octobre 2023. Une ceremonie de départ dans la dignité (DDD) sera au Mess des officiers de l’armée sur la rue Somerset ouest (Ottawa), le 18 octobre 2023, de 12 h a 15 h,. tous ses collegues et amis, anciens ou actuels, sont les bienvenvenus a participer, a partager des histoires et a lui dire au revoir.
  • 17 octobre : cpl Carson Nuttall – Après 8 ans au seins de service dans les Forces armées canadiennes (FAC) et au Corps du génie électrique et mécanique (GEMRC), le cpl Nuttall va libéré le 17 octobre 2023. Enamul, Ishrat and their daughter Arya will be staying in the Toronto area where he plans to go back to school to focus on his new career in entrepreneurship and small business. Enamul would like to wish everyone that he has worked with over the years all the best in their futures and a safe journey throughout their military careers.   • 28 February: LCol McDonald – After almost 32 years as a FCS/EO Tech and a RCEME Officer, LCol Rob McDonald will be retiring from the CAF on 28 Feb 2021. Rob and his wife, Sgt Shelley McDonald, will continue their careers in ADM(Mat) with Rob immediately transitioning to the Public Service to take on new challenges in DCSEM. His 3 children (Ashley in Toronto, Mikaela in Richmond and Pte Christian McDonald in 2 Svc Bn) wish him success in his future endeavours. Rob has met many wonderful people in his long career and has many fond memories of his time in uniform. He will indeed miss all of those whom he has met and hopes to keep contact with them into the future. A virtual DWD will be planned in the near future.
