RCEME General Officer

Brigadier-General Christopher (Chris) Moyle assumed duties as Director General Land Equipment Program Management in Gatineau, Quebec on 13 June 2023.

Brigadier-General Moyle was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. Accepted to the engineering program at the Royal Military College of Canada Kingston in 1991, he enrolled into the Canadian Armed Forces as an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Officer and graduated in 1995.

He would spend almost the entirety of his service as a junior officer in Petawawa with 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group serving with 2 Service Battalion, the 1st Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment, and 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group Headquarters. During this period, Brigadier-General Moyle deployed both on major domestic and international/NATO operations. Brigadier-General Moyle would also see key employment within the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command and Director General Land Equipment Program Management (DGLEPM). Within DGLEPM he has held the responsibilities of Director of Armoured Vehicle Program Management, Chief of Staff, and Director of Land Equipment Program Support.

Brigadier-General Moyle’s key command appointments include a Forward Repair Group, Maintenance Platoons both in garrison and on operations, Officer Commanding Administration Company of 2 Service Battalion, Base Commander of Canadian Forces Base Petawawa, and Commander of 202 Workshop Depot.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering as well as a Master of Defence Engineering and Management from the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Eisenhower School of National Resource Strategy in Washington, D.C. Brigadier-General Moyle is a graduate of the Land Force Command and Staff College, the Land Force Technical Staff Program, and the Canadian Forces College, and the United States National Defense University.
