Corps Sergeant Major
Chief Warrant Officer Eddy, originally from Nine Mile River, Nova Scotia, joined the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as an Artillery Reservist in 1997. After three years serving as a Gunner, he completed a Component Transfer to the Regular Force in 2000 as a Vehicle Technician.
Throughout his career in the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME), Chief Warrant Officer Eddy has served with both the Canadian Army and the Royal Canadian Navy. His postings have included 1 General Support Battalion, 1st Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, Formation Logistics, 1 Field Ambulance, Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians), 41 Canadian Brigade Group Headquarters, and 1 Service Battalion. At 1 Service Battalion, he served as the Company Sergeant-Major of Administration Company and later as the Drill Sergeant-Major. He was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer and appointed Regimental Sergeant-Major (RSM) of 1 Service Battalion in May 2024. In 2026, he was appointed Corps Sergeant-Major of the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
Chief Warrant Officer Eddy has completed five operational deployments: Bosnia in 2003, Afghanistan in 2006 and 2010, Latvia as the Regimental Sergeant-Major of the National Support Element in 2023, and Latvia again as the Regimental Sergeant-Major of the Multinational Logistics Unit in 2025. A notable highlight of his career was participating in the Nijmegen Marches with Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) in 2018.
Chief Warrant Officer Eddy is the proud father of three amazing children: Molly, Owen, and Jack.
In his spare time, he enjoys physical fitness, running, playing baseball and hockey, riding his Harley-Davidson, and spending time with his children.
