Colonel A.B. Lapointe, CD

Col Angie Lapointe enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1997 as a Reservist with the Princess Louise Fusiliers (PLF) in Halifax, N.S. Transferring to the Regular Force in 1998 as an Officer of the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME). She completed her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada and has a master’s degree in Organizational Behavior and Change Management from the University of Oklahoma.

Col Lapointe served two years on exchange with 32 Armoured Engineer Regiment, as part of 1 (UK) Armoured Division in Hohne, Germany. She deployed to Iraq in 2003 as part of the UK/US Invasion, and later deployed to Bosnia as part of the UK Close Support Engineer Squadron. She commanded at the tactical level within Maintenance Company at 5 Service Battalion, 12e Régiment Blindé du Canada as a maintenance officer, and in the 4th Canadian Division Training Center as the commander of Combat Service Support training company.

She has held various positions such as Project manager and Chief of Staff within the Combat Support Equipment Directorate (DCSEM), Integrated Logistics Support Management within Major Projects Directorate (DGMPD), G4 of 35 Brigade, and Tech Services Officer within 5 Service Battalion. Col Lapointe held positions as both Staff Officer and Executive Assistant to Commander Military Personnel Command, and took command of Transition Unit Eastern Ontario in June 2018. She then served in CA HQ G1, and worked in the Directorate of Land Equipment Program Systems (DLEPS) with a secondary role as COS RCEME. Promoted to Colonel in July 2023, she is currently the Director Armoured Vehicle Program Management (DAVPM). She was also appointed Director of the Corps of RCEME in September 2023.

Col Lapointe is married to Brigadier-General Louis Lapointe (R22R) and they are proud parent of two daughters: Charlotte and Chloe, and their labradoodle, Alyeska. They love skiing, hiking, and anything outdoors.
