D RCEME’s Retiree Award
This Award will be given annually to the retiree who, from among his/her peers, is deemed to have made the most significant contribution to the RCEME Corps community over the period 1 Apr 17 to 31 Mar 18. The criteria for selection are very closely linked to the stated objectives of the RCEME Corps Guild, which are as follows:
- to perpetuate the bonds of comradeship and esprit de corps within the RCEME Corps Community of serving and retired members, both Regular and Reserve;
- to foster, maintain and promote the well-being of the members of the RCEME Corps Community;
- to encourage and support public interest in the RCEME Corps and its heritage; and
- to assist in the preservation of the traditions, memorabilia and customs of the RCEME Corps, including the RCEME Army Cadet Corps.
Each region, in consultation with their LADs and retirees in their region, will establish a board that will select their Regional Retiree Award recipient. The senior Regional Representative in each region will be responsible to manage and advertise this program.
Upon completion of the regional boards, each region will forward their winner’s file to SO RCEME no later than 15 March 2018. A National Award Board will convene to decide the winner. It will be chaired by D RCEME and composed of COS RCEME, RCEME Corps SM, and Colonel Commandant, and an OA/AOA representative from each occupation.
The nominations are not to exceed two pages and must be printed in Times New Roman Font size 11.
Applicants will be recognized for their excellence IAW the criteria at Appendix 1.
The evaluation period will be from 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018.
